Pacira has developed DepoFoam, a proprietary sustained-release injectable drug delivery technology to address limitations associated with traditional injectable drug administration. The limitations of traditional injectable medication may include: maintaining the drug concentration in the "therapeutic window" for a desired period of time, side effects and frequent administration. These limitations contribute significantly to health economic costs and poor patient compliance.
