David Stack
President, Chief Executive Officer

David Stack became President, CEO, and a member of the Board of Directors of Pacira in December 2007. With over 25 years of successful industry experience in both large public and small private companies, Mr. Stack is evolving Pacira from a sustained release injectable technology company into a fully integrated, acute care pharmaceutical company.

Mr. Stack also remains a Managing Director at MPM Capital, and President and General Partner of Stack Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a firm assisting emerging healthcare companies in the commercialization of their products since 1998.

From September 2001 to August 2004, Mr. Stack was President, CEO and a Director of the The Medicines Company. During this time, he was recognized as the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2003 (New Jersey Healthcare). Prior to The Medicines Company, Mr. Stack was the President and General Manager of Innovex Inc., a commercial solutions company. From 1993 to 1995, Mr. Stack was the Vice President of Business Development and Marketing for Immunomedics, Inc., and from 1992 to 1993, Mr. Stack had been the Director of Business Development and Planning for Infectious Disease, Oncology and Virology of Roche Laboratories. He held other commercial positions with Roche Laboratories for almost 11 years.

Mr. Stack is a Director of Bio-Imaging Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:BITI), PepTx, Inc., Molecular Insight Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:MIPI) and Elixir Pharmaceuticals Inc.

Mr. Stack holds a degree in pharmacy from Albany College and a BS in biology from Siena College.

Lynette BowmanVice President, Human Resources

Ms. Bowman has served as Vice President, Human Resources at Pacira since its inception. She has almost 20 years of experience as an HR professional, with most of her management experience coming from the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries in both small entrepreneurial start-ups and large global organizations.

Ms. Bowman transitioned from the VP of HR position she held at SkyePharma, Inc. since 2003. Prior to joining SkyePharma, Ms. Bowman held HR director positions at other San Diego companies including Women First Healthcare, Inc., Anacomp, Inc., Comprehensive Health Center, and Builder Brothers, Inc.

Ms. Bowman has an MBA with an emphasis in human resources from National University and a BA in interdisciplinary studies and liberal arts from the University of California, Davis and National University.

William Lambert, Ph.D.Senior Vice President, Pharmaceutical Development

Dr. Lambert, with over 20 years of drug development experience, has served as our Senior Vice President, Pharmaceutical Development since the company’s inception. He is responsible for R&D and intellectual property management related to injectable controlled release dosage forms for traditional and protein therapeutics.

Dr. Lambert served as Senior VP Pharmaceutical Development, when he joined SkyePharma in January 2006. Prior to 2006, Dr. Lambert held director positions at Eisai Inc., in drug delivery technology and pharmaceutical and analytical R&D, for almost a decade. Prior to Eisai, Dr. Lambert worked at Pfizer Inc. and The Upjohn Company (now Pfizer Inc.) as a research investigator with increasing levels of responsibility.

Dr. Lambert is on the advisory council for the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Technology and Education and on the advisory boards of the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Handbook of Pharmaceutical Excipients. He is well published and is an inventor on two drug delivery patents.

Dr. Lambert received his Ph.D. in pharmaceutics from the University of Utah and his BS in pharmacy from the University of Rhode Island.

Fred RyanVice President, Corporate and Business Development

Fred Ryan joined Pacira in February 2008 as Vice President of Business and Commercial Development. Mr. Ryan brings to Pacira over two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Prior to joining Pacira, Mr. Ryan was a founding partner of Stack Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a healthcare consulting firm specializing in developing commercial and business strategies for emerging healthcare companies, venture capital and private equity organizations. Mr. Ryan will maintain his partner role at Stack. In addition to his founding and consulting roles at Stack, Mr. Ryan was also the founder and President of Global Pharma Solutions LLC, a healthcare consulting company.

Mr. Ryan was with The Medicines Company between 2000 and 2005. During his tenure he was Vice President of Corporate and Business Development, a member of the Executive Committee and a Corporate Officer focusing on licensing and commercial partnerships.

Prior to joining the Medicines Company he spent 15 years with Novartis. From 1998-2000, he was Executive Director Commercial Development and Operations for Novartis Pharmaceuticals in the US. He also served as a Director of Strategic Planning for Novartis Pharmaceuticals in the US during 1997.

Prior to the Sandoz/Ciba merger, he was with Ciba Pharmaceuticals in the US 1992-1996 and also with Ciba Consumer Pharmaceuticals 1985-1992. During his tenure with Ciba he held senior positions in Financial Operations, Business Analysis and Business Development/Licensing.

Mr. Ryan received his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University and his undergraduate degree in business from Bryant University.

James ScibettaChief Financial Officer

Jim Scibetta joined Pacira as Chief Financial Officer in August 2008. Mr. Scibetta brings to Pacira more than 20 years of financial executive and investment banking experience serving public and private healthcare and life sciences companies.

Prior to joining Pacira, Mr. Scibetta served as CFO of Bioenvision Inc. (NASDAQ: BIVN), an international biotechnology company that developed and commercialized products for hematological and solid tumor cancers. In 2007, Mr. Scibetta was instrumental in completing the $345 million sale of Bioenvision to Genzyme Corporation (NASDAQ: GENZ). Mr. Scibetta consulted to Genzyme from the time of the sale in 2007 until he joined Pacira. From 2001 - 2006, Mr. Scibetta was Executive Vice President and CFO of Merrimack Pharmaceuticals Inc.

Mr. Scibetta currently serves as the Chairman of the Board and audit committee of Nephros Inc. (Amex: NEP). From 2001 to 2008, Mr. Scibetta served as a member of the Board of Directors of Labopharm Inc. (NASDAQ: DDSS), an international, specialty pharmaceutical company developing and commercializing improved formulations of pain and CNS therapeutics. From 1998 to 2004, Mr. Scibetta served as a member of the Board of Directors of Merrimack Pharmaceuticals.

Prior to 2001, Mr. Scibetta spent over a decade in investment banking where he was responsible for sourcing and executing transactions for a broad base of public and private healthcare and life sciences companies.

Mr. Scibetta received his Bachelor of Science in Physics from Wake Forest University, and an MBA from the University of Michigan. Mr. Scibetta also completed the Harvard Business School executive education program “Leadership & Strategy in Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology”.

Mark WaltersSenior Vice President, Technical Operations and Business Development

Mr. Walters has served as Senior Vice President, Technical Operations and Business Development for Pacira since its inception. Mr. Walters has over 30 years of pharmaceutical experience, with executive positions in operations, business development, marketing and sales.

Prior to Pacira, Mr. Walters was with the drug delivery company, SkyePharma Inc., for seven years, as Vice President of Commercial Development and as director of both strategic sourcing and product management. Before SkyePharma, he was at Alliance Pharmaceutical Corp. for 12 years and worked as Program Director, Project Director and Product Director in the imaging and liquid ventilation areas. Prior to Alliance, he had sales management positions with Whitehall Laboratories (a division of American Home Products) and William H. Rorer (now Aventis).

Mr. Walters has received six patents in the fields of imaging and ventilatory support.

Mr. Walters received his BA in biology from Hamilton College.

Vladimir KharitonovVice President of Product Development and Technology Transfer

Dr. Kharitonov joined the executive management team in July 2009, as Executive Director of Product Development and Technology Transfer. With over 20 years of research and development experience, he contributes strong leadership to the company's development efforts in the area of Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls, with direct responsibility for process and analytical development, engineering, and technical support functions. Dr. Kharitonov has over a decade of experience with commercial manufacturing of complex injectable liposomal drug products and leads Pacira's processing efforts starting from early clinical trials through product approval.

Dr. Kharitonov transitioned to Pacira Pharmaceuticals from SkyePharma, Inc. where he joined the team in 2000 as Director of Process Development. Over the past nine years, he has had increasing levels of responsibilities in research and development, process development and commercial manufacturing. Prior to SkyePharma he was with Alliance Pharmaceutical Corp. for five years holding a number of different management roles within the R&D department.

Dr. Kharitonov received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the Moscow State University, Russia and worked at the Academy of Sciences before moving to the United States in 1993. After two years as a visiting scientist, he obtained a faculty position at the University of California, San Diego before he transitioned into the pharmaceutical industry. During his academic career he had over 40 publications in the areas of chemistry and biochemistry.

Gary Patou, BSc, MB, BS, MD, FRCPathInterim Chief Medical Office

Gary Patou, M.D. joined the Pacira Management team as interim Chief Medical Officer in 2009. Dr. Patou brings over 20 years of extensive experience in clinical and regulatory affairs to the organization.

Dr. Gary Patou remains a Managing Director at MPM Capital. Previously, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Oscient Pharmaceuticals, Inc., following its merger with GeneSoft Pharmaceuticals in 2004. As President of Genesoft, Dr. Patou was instrumental in applying for and obtaining FDA approval of the Company's lead product, FACTIVE® tablets. Prior to joining Genesoft, Dr. Patou worked at SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals, now a unit of GlaxoSmithKline, as Senior Vice President & Director, Project and Portfolio Management, managing all of the company's pharmaceutical development projects including FACTIVE, as well as FDA-approved products Avandia, Paxil and Augmentin. He also served as Director and Vice President of Anti-Infective Development where he managed the development of a broad line of anti-infective products, including oral, IV and topical antibiotics.

Dr. Patou is a member of the Board of Directors of Xenon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and a former board member of Oscient Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:OSCI). He also served as interim EVP and CMO of Cerimon Pharmaceuticals as well as Founding Chairman of its Scientific Advisory Board and served as interim CMO of Peplin, Ltd. (ASX.PLI).

Dr. Patou has held a number of academic appointments at University College & Middlesex School of Medicine in London and holds medical and medical Ph.D. degrees from University College London.
