Thomas Wiggans

Mr. Wiggans brings over 40 years of biopharmaceutical industry experience to the Pacira Board of Directors, including more than 25 years in chief executive leadership roles. He has led four biopharmaceutical companies as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, guiding each through a successful acquisition.

Most recently, Mr. Wiggans was Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Pardes Biosciences. Prior to Pardes, he co-founded Dermira, Inc. and spent a decade building the company from inception through its public listing, Phase 3 clinical development, FDA approval of Qbrexza®, and its acquisition by Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE: LLY). Earlier in his career, he was Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Connetics Corporation, where he spent more than 12 years growing the business into one of the leading dermatology companies in the United States prior to its acquisition by Stiefel Laboratories (later acquired by GlaxoSmithKline). He also held the role of Chief Executive Officer and Chairman at Peplin, Inc., which was acquired by LEO Pharma.

Mr. Wiggans has served on the boards of various industry organizations, educational institutions, and both private and public companies. His recent directorships include Jasper Therapeutics (Nasdaq: JSPR), Annexon Biosciences (Nasdaq: ANNX) (2017–2026), Pardes Biosciences (2022–2023), CymaBay Therapeutics (2021–2024), and Forma Therapeutics (2020–2022).

Mr. Wiggans is a founding member of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO). He holds a B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Kansas and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
